The Dean’s Distinguished Speaker Series, Addressing Systemic Racism Through Justice and Equity: The Role of Faculty at a Community-Engaged, Empowered University
Join us for a discussion with Dr. David Stovall, Professor of Black Studies and Criminology, Law & Justice at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). His scholarship investigates three areas 1) Critical Race Theory, 2) the relationship between housing and education, and 3) the intersection of race, place and school.

The speaker series aims to facilitate a short dialogue/conversation with preeminent scholars in education on the speaker series topic. Considering our historic and current University of Illinois efforts related to community engagement and our role as faculty in this current (inter)national moment where issues of racial and social inequality are so very present, the speaker series aims to engage the role of faculty on the series topic.
