How Science Lost America and How to Get it Back

Over the last 100 years, two major dynamics have played out in the US around acceptance of science. The first is that on the political side, forces have developed methods for discounting science when it conflicts with religion and ideology. On the science side, scientists have been following a policy of filling journals with excellent information and hoping for the best. It’s time for scientists to inform themselves about these dynamics and come up with an informed plan for the future.
